About us

LUMENION is driving the heat transition forward by enabling reliable, zero-carbon power and heat supply, away from expensive fossil fuels.

With LUMENION’s high-temperature storage system, fluctuating wind and solar PV energy is available for 24/7 use as process heat or for district heating. Industrial consumers with a particularly high heat demand receive an additional benefit of cost optimization by storing energy in the storage system when it's cheap and using it when the prices are high.

The storage system is a key component in the rollout of renewables targets, as well as grid stabilization services. Embrace a sector-coupling approach for a successful energy transition, economically viable and available today.

Equipment

LUMENION thermal energy storage system (TES) is a power-to-heat technology that converts renewable electricity into thermal energy.

The system stores fluctuating wind and solar PV power as heat, which can then be supplied flexibly and reliably as industrial process heat or district heating. In this way, renewable energy sources become available around the clock.

The storage system offers a solution for secure, zero-carbon process heat and district heating, without expensive and scarce fossil fuels. Our storage technology achieves the CO2 reduction in the heat sector at the same time contributing to power grid stabilization.

LUMENION TES

Our high-temperature storage system is a power-to-heat technology based on the idea of sector coupling. It converts wind and solar PV electricity into a reliable and steady supply of thermal energy. The TES can be charged for example, during off-peak periods when the grid is not heavily used and electricity prices drop. Thermal energy can be discharged whenever it is required. The stored heat is transfered to a heat exchanger which supplies process heat between 150 °C and 400 °C.
